The last time I saw this family their little boy was still baking in the oven! This year is already a sitting up and flashing those big blue eyes like his sister! What a difference a year can make! These two cuties have a similar sweet personality and adorable smiles. After many photos around their beautiful property, big sister sure earned her tea party in the tent! These two have so many adventures together to look forward to. Thank you to the B Family for entrusting me to capture your family memories.
"Distance isn't an issue, because in the end, I have you"
Loved capturing the pure love this couple has for each other after being apart for almost a year due to military deployment. The sunset was beautiful in Georgetown and these two were so great in front of the camera!
Do you know how expectant mothers have a certain glow? This lovely lady was no exception! I had the great pleasure of photographing this handsome couple last weekend in the esteemed company of some very talented photographers. Thank you to Kate Julie Photography for organizing this event, 48 Fields for hosting, and to Erin and J for being such amazing models!
Last summer I made a trip to Manhattan and had such an amazing time taking a new look a the city through my lens. I was so pleasantly surprised at how friendly everyone was, and I loved capturing photographs of interesting faces and places. I ate great food, laughed with cops, photographed a young dancer, saw an award winning play, drank on rooftop bars, and got around to finally walking across the Brooklyn Bridge.
My favorite part of the trip however, was visiting the twin waterfall basins for the 9/11 Memorial. Standing there and thinking about how many lives were touched that day was very moving. Most everyone I know remembers very clearly what they were doing that day.
I really love how they took something so dark and sad and transformed it into something so light and hopeful. Looking up to the new Freedom Tower, my eyes took in all the sky and clouds reflected in the glass and I had a feeling of warmth and calm. It was a very peaceful place.
During July and August I will be showcasing this black and white collection at the Aldie Library for their Ar ton Exhibit series. Click here for more info!
I close this with the opening lines from one of my all-time favorite movies, Manhattan.
"He adored New York City. He romanticized it all out of proportion. To him, no matter what the season was, this was still a town that existed in black and white and pulsated to the great tunes of George Gershwin."

I met Nicole during the wee hours of the morning while we were both waiting to register our kids for county after school care. We had consecutive numbers in line and chatted away while we tried our best to keep warm in the morning cold. I loved Nicole’s open nature and it we made our time in line fly by while chatting and sharing stories about our families. The topic of my photography business came up and I showed her a recent boudoir session about which I was super excited. Nicole joked that she would never be able to do something like that. I insisted that most women think the same thing and it just takes a little bit of a jump to try it yourself- a jump to trust yourself, trust the photographer, and put yourself out there with the result being improved self-confidence and heirloom images that will pleasantly surprise you. As a photographer, it’s my job to help you project the beautiful person you are in a way that you may have forgotten but your most loved ones see day to day.
I was so happy when I received a message from Nicole a few weeks ago saying she was ready to book a Glamour Boudoir Session. I think her photos speak for themselves but as cliché as it sounds, the photos were proof that Nicole is just as beautiful inside as she is outside. For a mom of three, she is not used to celebrating herself. As moms, we tend to lose our individual self with the chaos that is daily life. I am so honored that Nicole chose me to take her photos, put herself first, and help her see just how beautiful she is.
If you are ready to enjoy an afternoon of pampering and feeling beautiful and confident, please contact me to set up a session. Trust me, you won’t regret it!
Love and Hugs,
