Residential Studio Reveal | Ashburn, VA | Newborn, Children,Glamour Boudoir and Headshot Photographer | Kate Montaner Photography

It has been an exciting summer Chez Montaner and I am so happy to announce that my new residential studio is complete and open for business!  It has truly been a labor of love and I am so thankful for my husband Brice for collaborating with me and fine tuning the project every step of the way.

We basically converted the basement of our home to make better use of our space and have a dedicated studio for me to receive clients. This also means I now  have the most glorious woman cave I could have ever dreamed of.  Seriously, I love being in here happily working with the lights low and a candle lit!

This office/studio space contains some of my favorite things, including my concrete desk, jade plants, my photography gear, a vintage Chanel N. 5 poster (my middle name is Chanel), this awesome rug and the most comfortable and chic desk chair imaginable.

Here are some behind the scenes pics of the before and after.

I will be announcing some new offerings soon including head shots and special occasion mini sessions in the studio.  I hope I will be seeing your lovely faces soon!

THE BEFORE:

OMG just looking at these photos stresses me out a little! Dust, drywall, chaos... at many moments I wondered if it was all worth it.  Spoiler alert:  TOTALLY WAS!

Lots of hard work and help from the hubby.  Reclaimed wood, concrete floors, arched doorway, custom bookshelf, concrete desk and gas pipe shelves.  These are a few of my favorite things...

... and the after!  TA-DA!!!!

A view facing my desk and storage/bookshelves.  So happy to have some natural light and a view of my garden.

The most amazing scented candle is vanilla and fig! Just love having a potted jade as well.  Lord knows I need something that doesn't require me to water it daily.  I hardly get enough water! ha

The hubby built and wired this awesome reclaimed wood wall in the foyer with these really pretty Edison lightbulbs.   A view of the door to my studio, and a pull back shot of the studio space ready for toddlers, head shots, newborns and special occasion portraits.
